Music Award Presented
JCC President Dorothy Strang and member Frank Darigan with award recipient Rachel O’Neill
The winner of the Sixth Annual JCC Music Award was announced at the spring concert on Sunday, May 6, 2012. She is Rachel O’Neill of Jamestown.
Finishing ninth grade at North Kingstown High School, Rachel describes herself as “a musician in every aspect.. .I don’t just play music, I listen to, record, perform, love, learn, and live music.”
Rachel’s enthusiasm frames her skills as a pianist and vocalist, and illuminates her growing experience as a performer at musicians’ gatherings, coffee houses, and her church. She plans to use the $500 award for studio-quality head-phones, sheet music, and summer piano lessons.
